I found this nice video and wanted to share it with all you hubbers coz I see a lot of you are religious. It is made by a muslim but I think the message covers all religions.

Rubbish. If god answered prayers, we wouldn't have tens of thousands of children starving to death every day. The video author is not able to see past their nose.

I put this out for the religious. Are you religious Q? If not then it wasn't for you smile

God doesn't need to answer the prayers of the hungry, we can answer them ourselves, there is plenty of food in this world to go around. If God has instructed us to feed the poor but we only feed ourselves then we are to blame for that.

My desire not to be banned limits me from how I wish to respond to that post. I'll leave as such that you can't see past your nose, either.

It is good that god is not answering all human prayers otherwise this world would have been a horrible place...

And which world do you live? We live in a world where tens of thousands of children die horribly every day from starvation because the gods that people worship do nothing for them all the while feeding those believers and making sure they are physically and psychologically sound.

How much more horrible of a world can you imagine beyond that?

Just Imagine All Students stand first  in the university examination.....  with all good grade..........   because their prayers are answered...

Imagine your neighboring country and if god answers their prayers  what will be your situation.

If god answers ur BF/GF   Prayers and he/She  gets a Celebrity spouse..

If God answers prayers of all the Terrorist.....

If God answers prayers of all the doctors then you will be always in hospital.....

So things can be beyond your imagination......

Whatever is  happening is in perfection..........  Trust in God

So God will give me the courage to murder someone, just as the soldier in this video murders the other soldier?  What an anti-peaceful, psychopathic, twisted ?God?

I can't stoop to the level of this God[Allah], or the Christian God[Jehovah], because I have higher morals than they do.

I think that clip was meant to represent what a person might pray for but the clip after that suggests that that is not what God would give you.

OK.  The pictures and messages went by so fast, it was hard to discern what was happening!  However, I do wish that people would see that it is us and not God, who make our way in life. I would like to inspire people to see themselves as the catalyst for the positive changes in their lives.  Sorry if that differs from your perception.

No, not at all. I agree with you that we have the power to change our lives (and others) but I just think that we are given that power by God.

Also, I think what the video was trying to suggest is that what you call a 'positive change' may only be that in your opinion, as God knows what is best for his creation in the long run.

Very, very well put!  This is the crux, however, of all animosity.  The impatience and the longing to have answers here and now, and in a manner that "I" want them will only self serve to degrade the human soul.  That Higher Power does not work on such unproductive levels.  He knows us a heck of a lot better than we do, and we owe it to Him and to ourselves to take the time to relish the journey of life, the good and the bad, in order to finally realize what we've been taught all along.  I am not Islam.  I am not Muslim.  However, it is wonderful to know that those of faith share common ground - to remain our spirits "teachable."

(Q)posted 13 years agoin reply to this

Sorry, but the starving have nothing to relish as you have in abundance from your god. Their lives are short, painful and are filled with horrors you can't even imagine.

Your so-called "Higher Power" does not work at all.

        1. goldenpath profile image66
goldenpathposted 13 years agoin reply to this

No need to be sorry.  I believe you and I understand each other about as much as we're going to in this life.  By the way, I've noticed your enjoyment in using the term "starving" in replies to my posts.  Could you elaborate what type of starving you are implying?  Is it the starving for food?  Is it the starving for knowledge?  Is it the starving for shelter?  Is it the starving for a loving mother and father?  Is it the starving for dignity?  Is it the starving for water?

"Starving" is a pretty broad spectrum in which I believe most all of us fall into one category or another.

May your coming days be happy and prosperous! smile

Actually, it's more along the lines of how much of a misunderstanding of life on your part.

Playing coy or simply have a short memory, probably from lack of use of that dormant organ between your ears?

You know damn well what starving refers, it is those who starve while you grow fat on the abundance your god provides you. Or, does he provide anything for you? Yes? No?

I don't want to sound anti-theist but if this is how prayers are answered then f**k that prayer timepass up. (sorry for my language but can't resist).

Sorry to hear that you lost a friend. I'm not going to comment on what was best for her (or you) as I am not the one to judge. But if God is all-knowing then surely he knew what was best and believing that is what helps many religious people get through tough times.

    it not much of how does God answer prayer that matters, it why do we prayer in the first point? if all you pray for is just your needs then you are still short of the reason for prayer, some of this needs you pray for can be gotten just by being deligent and working smart . if such a pious act , can be short exchange by man's effort then something must be wrong with our defination . pray is for God to accomplish his plan;
for His will to be carried out on the today , His will is that he want to be expressed and presented by man. then prayer must be in this line, man cooperating with Him to open up in pray to be filled by God, for His expression; this is prayer and this is first reason for prayer before material things.

    2. profile image0
brotheryochananposted 13 years agoin reply to this

why must we pray for god to accomplish HIS plan? Isn't god all powerful and he didnt say he would do this? It seems more expedient for us to pray that he strengthens us for us to do his will and for us to make sure we can do his desires for us and to others, than for us to pray "god accomplish your plans".
When in reality, prayer beats down our human egos. Human egos often clash with what god wants to do in our lives and we need to realise that god is above us in every way.
Prayer moves god to respond in ways, well, didnt moses pray for the people of israel in the desert that He not wipe them out when god was set to do so, Moses prayed that all the world would see and laugh at god for not being able to do his purpose. And did not god repent? He did. Moses through prayer saved 3 million lives that day? 1.5 million? A heck of a lot of people.
Prayer is talking to god. Its not always on your knees or rashach. Prayer is walking through the woods and saying hello and thankyou to god and mentioning others in needs and deeds. This is communication with god, what the jewish people did not have under the old dispensation, the law, we now have in the new dispensation, grace under love. The veil rent from top to bottom- god to usward- and open 24/7 365 communication with the creator of the universe and all things. Who wouldnt want to pray!
Thy kingdom come mighty yahweh ;0)

I have dealt with many of muslims yet they cannot seem to make up their mind  if they want to be protaginist or militant or followers of the peaceful path but this will i say God is a jealous God and He will have no other put before him. Jesus Christ is in Him and is the expressthought of God. Jesus Christ is the active agent who carries out the will of God
