I recently heard that some religious sects are among the richest money making entities in the world. What are they.
I have no proof of this but I would say the Catholic Church.
I would have to agree, with the possible exceptions of the oil wealthy Muslims and the Jews (being that they are a nation as well).
But I think SirDent is correct, because the Vatican is a warehouse of priceless artifacts. (the selling of half of which could probably feed the starving children of the world for many generations).
Are you referring to the "churches" themselves? Or their followers?
I've visited the vatican.
My jaw dropped at the disgusting oppulence being displayed.
It's beyond "riches!" it is arrogance to the nth degree!
It represents alledged christianity at the zenith of the "worst!"
I came here to say Hindus and Jews, but that has already been mentioned in this link. BTW my answer was based on my personal observation.
The link refered to individuals earning power, not the collective value of religious entities.
I'm sure it's the catholic church.
The link article is about income distribution in the United States. I think the same would not hold true on a global level.
I guess it would be the one with the most gullible followers.
Catholics would have to be right up there, taking sexual advice from a guy who has never had sex might be a clue!

Is praying to Mary & the saints, like Catholicism teaches an act of false worship? The Bible teaches us to worship God only (Ex. 20:3-5; Rev. 19:10); but the Roman Catholic Church teaches its adherents to pray to Mary and the saints. They even bow down to statues and pictures of them when they...

Many religion now see Catholicism and Paganism more similar to each other. For example, the celebration of Christmas in Dec 25 by Catholics is rooted from a Pagan celebration according to some religion.

As a Catholic, I was wondering why is it that every Christian Denominations are lambasting/bashing Catholic doctrines and teachings. This is purely based on my experience when I was still in college when I joined other Christian sect like the Born Again Christians and others.
