JESUS knows the things in advance in his life period and obey GOD.
But we dont know about the future things .In this case obedience is verydifficult .
No human being is "greater" than anyone else.
Good
Only the nature of obedience is important for GOD.
See the example of MOSES - GOD rejected his entry to KANAN city.
obedience is very difficult, therefore we have faith and practise...
Over Obedience of many religions and over God causes most wars in our over ego world, don't you think?
Blind faith is on both sides, creates hell on earth before you even most likely entre hell in your afterlife
This jesus fellow never told anyone anything.
No one knows anything about this fellow.
Obviously, you haven't studied the history and evolution of christianity.
Qwark
Well if there is any truth in the Jesus story, blind obedience led him to torture and a long, painful death - not a great incentive to emulate his blind faith in my book!
_____________
Are you speaking of this?
Luke 11
27. And it came to pass, as he spake these things, a certain woman of the company lifted up her voice, and said unto him, Blessed is the womb that bare thee, and the paps which thou hast sucked.
28. But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it
Jay, are you referring to Psalms 82:6? "You are Gods" ?
if so you may wish to study that a bit more..?
He, God, was explaining to Moses that Those of Israel, the Original 12 tribes who are accepting the Law, are accepting the fact that they have the same responsibility to Keep the Law as God does.
He was explaining to them they are taking on God like responsibility to do this. To Obey and follow and not differ from it.
That was meant for the chosen, not the Gentile. We are under the Grace, (Gods grace extended to us by Jesus' death), and they, the original and chosen, are under the law. They keep or have kept the law and were made promises by God for doing that.
I do not believe that I remember, I could be wrong, that Jesus ever told us that we were greater than he.
In the period of JESUS -- People are praising his mother MARY in front of JESUS for her motherhood of JESUS. Then JESUS told this words.....

...when Jesus clearly said 'My Father is Greater than I' in John 14:28?Nothing can be greater than God, so by Jesus' own words, we can deduce that Jesus did not profess to be God, because he professes that there is a power Greater than him (Jesus). Why then do many Christians firmly believe that...
