One of these days, we are going to be able to look back at all that we have accomplished and realize how wonderful we truly were.
One of these days we're gonna evolve and when we get there, the Beav is gonna say, "Whoa, gee whiz, Wally, that wasn't nowhere near as tough as we was thinkin, was it?!"
But you mean kick ourselves in the butt (buttocks)?
I agree with Jonathan... not nearly as tough as we was thinkin'.
But we sure make it tough on ourselves, don't we?
And I agree with AEvans, that we really are wonderful. Sometimes we lose sight of that, too.
Believing in ourselves can take on different meanings, depending on our motivation. If we're selfish, this can mean, thinking that we're better than everyone else! Ouch!
On the kinder, gentler side of things, this can mean, confidence with humility, and this sounds downright heroic.
