Living is not something we do, it is a truth we have to reallize. There is no special incantation that will make it any better, the reallity is that we exist and while it may seem cruel, is a joke played on us by the universe at large. To enjoy it, all one has to do is reallize this and laugh at the joke.

Did you know there is an "Education and Science" category with the subcategory of "Philosophy"? smile

Do I appear to be a good teacher? I am not trying to teach, I am merely pointing out the truths that I have found for myself to be true.

I dunno, I think the OP fits in Buddhist Teachings and insight.

But it seems a bit easy. I always thought the best lessons from Buddhism were ones the student had to figure out for himself. This is kinda like showing us the answers at the back of the book. smile

Every great book has a detailed glossary. I am trying to get the reader of my posts to think as an individual that is part of a greater whole. I point out truths and it is up to the reader to read it or accept it as the rantings of a crazy old man.

I don't disagree. But in the religion category, sooner or later, some proselytizer is going to show up. Then goodbye intelligent discourse.

Agreed. It is a shame that some would take things like what I have just said and turn it into doctrine. They are truths that are as intangible as "I". Life is intangible and because of this people tend to see absolutes that don't neccesarily exist.

Less likely in the Buddhist forum than in discussions of certain other religions....

To me, all religions are the same. They were once teachings meant to help followers turn inward and in our infinite wisdom, we destroyed them by making them mean what we wanted them to.

To add to this, I would tell you that the main reason for believing in religion and God is for fear of dying. It is the most impoverished and vulnerable that fall into the pseudo-comforting arms of religion.

Hope is something that humans grasp for, if there was no hope, they would kill themselves.

In that respect, I can understand any vulnerable person's belief in something irrational if that keeps them alive.

For anyone who believes in organised religion and their descriptions of God, there is only shame hmm

There is no shame in believing. It is a shame that people do it for the wrong reasons.

There is a lot of shame in believing that everything in the Bible happened. imho.

I wasn't talking about the bible, I was talking about believing. I don't think that belief is purely a result of the writings in a book.

Life is realize when death is truly understood.
All fear stems from and it is death...misunderstood.

So those of Life now understand that they need not die unless there is the fulfillment of purpose in it, and this death they willingly put on, not merely accept as a fact of life.

One fears death because they've not learned how to live. And people fear living but they don't fear death.

Those that don't fear death are crazy, those that fear life, find religion. One must find it within themselves. latching on to a belief or a book, will not lead one to truth. If one is to believe in God, it should be a belief from within and should come as a form of truth. Fearing life is obsurd, fearing death is fearing the inevitable. Both are happenings of the universe and should be accepted as such, then such fears will slide away.

Those who fear life really only fear quality of life. They just haven't realized to quantify it as such.

The truth for me is that, people don't fear life so much as the prospect of losing it.

To fear death is natural - nothing is crazy about it.  Animals fear it, human too. Death is the end of life and we do not want it. Life is such a miracle, we should enjoy it, we should get up in the morning with hope to have another day full of wonderful adventures and happy encounters. Some lucky ones live like that. Most of us  do not. We fill our lives with misery, worries, sicknesses, hatred, anger, all kinds of problems, some of those we create ourselves. We apply to somebody upstears who supposed to know better and solve our problems. Poor creatures! No one can solve your problems but you, because YOU ARE YOUR OWN GOD, and you have to learn how to relay on yourself - your knowledge, wisdom, experience. You are not born with it but you are born with abilities to learn, to be wise, educated, knowledgeable and kind, helpful, forgiving as long as you are alive you can be all that. A wonderful unique human being - you.

Thus it is as I have been saying. There is no special technique or incantation that will make it any easier. We must just accept it as it is and enjoy it as much as possible. There will be pain and there will be desire, but these are only facettes of life that we have been alluded to. I have been conditioned to see mysery and I can override the conditioning, but only if I truly want to.

Since my early childhood I've been conditioned to live in constant fear (fear of a system), misery (anything can happen to you why be merry?), self-denial and sickness. My mom lived like that and I've been taught to live like that. It took me many years and lots of bumps from life to learn to live differently. I hope I do live differently now.

That's absolutely true. Actually, fearing living is useless. You would only be ditching many opportunities whereby you can make a difference in your own life.

    People fear living

People want to live; that is why they make efforts for; they fear they will die; that is the corrrect concept.

People  not fear to live. People fear to be sick. People fear to lost of their loved ones. People fear to die. From incantation couldn't get the life success. Only right practice can achieve the success and happiness for life. It is true this life is playing a big game with us. if you could not understand it properly and not taken right action in urgency you also will be a victim of this marvelous game.

I must be one of these odd balls who is fearless, because I confront every large problem that confronts me, then in time comes an understanding.

Wail 90% of the people are moved by fear in living,  fear in Religious God, fear of hell and fear of death.
