If anyone can tell me why this is, without science or religion, I'll say then you deserve to be heard. So then. Why does any of this exist? To further refine this question, I shall ask this. How do any of us know that this is at all and that the illusion of it is not just a dream we are having?
That is logical and rational, though the question requires much thought to answer honestly. I know that it is, but I will never know why. To release the preconception that this exists at all, is to be free of the illusions of why, in our own minds. The best way to answer questions like this, is to ask me why I asked it.
You're right that you will never know why. None of us will ever know why, and that is something difficult for the human mind, which is used to asking why to understand. That is why we create explanations, whether spiritual or scientific.
It is only a truth, but it has ever released my heart and mind. It is this letting go that has brought me peace. Let go of the idea that my way is right and your way automatically becomes wrong, but we are the same.
This is because this is It! and the the It is Life.
We are experiencing the phase where Life is mixed with its own illussions.
When the illussion is identified and separated, we now see Life in all its glory...
all serving ONE GOOD PURPOSE
At that point they would know Life and Life is all of which is worth Living.
This (any association with Creation) is here for the sake of the seer; for the distinct recognition of the objective world as well as for the recognition of the distinct nature of the seer.
The observer only exists in the ego and is influenced by the illusion of self. Because I am an "I", my eyes will only ever see what I want them to.
That's the theory. At least until one can create dissassociation from the seen whereby we gain independence through desirelessness.
When you attempt to resolve the why you have no choice but to turn to science or philosophy. Without those, there is no question. It simply is. Philosophy will always lead to religion if it doesn't turn to science. The why is too big and unanswerable through any other means.
Existance is random and thoughtless. There is no why. A better question would be How?
Agree. How: By self-control over single moments there is wisdom born of discrimination which leads to recognition of intuition (discriminative knowledge). Taken to the highest power (in theory) association with awareness ceases. Only pure consciousness remains or absolute freedom.
See how easy it is. One does not need religion to find liberation. Liberation comes from within, not without. We all have the light, we just can't see it nor can we feel it. But the light has no name and is eternal in that sense. We could guess for an eternity and fling names at it, but will never understand it and in accepting the unknowing, we are able to move with it. The light is the illumination of the mind and is yet an illusion of self.
Might have to disagree with some of this, maybe just on a technicality.
We can see and feel the light, we just don't (want to, know how to, try to).
At some point, we will understand it.
It exists because existing is good, or it just exists for no reason and we got lucky that it's good--makes very little difference either way.
We are here to continue the journey. What journey? The struggle towards full civilization. We are here to build upon what has already been done before us. We are here to cut, dress, and push the stones into their proper places. Peel back the layers of the glass onion to reveal the secrets...all of them...and if possible, to know all that is knowable. Once we have the answers we seek, we will acquire new questions.
Decarte said 'I exist therefore I am'.
Why am 'I' ?
Because I exist.
All these posts are searching. Yes it is true, I believe that we cannot as we presently exist fully comprehend the fullness of the mystery, that somehow we recognize is yet to be discovered.
What is this mystery, light, knowledge, fullness, completeness? I believe we discover little snippets of what this mystery is. It could be when we sit by the sea and something within us feels overpowered by its beauty. Or perhaps when we feel a deep sense of love for somebody, or maybe it is being loved by somebody else.
Whatever it is, it is not complicated - it is simple and it is discovered ,not taught. There are some questions that cannot be answered and its ok. Acceptance leads to greater enlightenment deeper understanding and peace.

If nothing can only produce nothing, how did our universe start from nothing without God? There are many unanswered questions in the science and astronomy fields. Since these fields can not have God as an answer, they toss out data that disproves their belief about a Creator. Actually a Creator...

I can understand the positives of putting your faith in such and such religion, which is why I do not think religion as a whole should be completely eradicated, however in this day and age I honestly wouldn't mind if it was.My question is this: why does religion NEED to exist? If you say "So...
