If these over achievers are making you feel like an all-around failure,
then name something you're proud of. It doesn't have to be something you did today... it can be something you did 20 years ago. I'll go first...

When I was in labor, I smiled at my husband after every contraction.
It turned out he didn't notice. Still, I've always been really proud of that!

      No, not really.

I don't see how spending all of my free time perfecting a sport would be useful in any way except to inflate my own ego.

My ego is big enough as it is.

Sorry Jane, this thread is only for ppl who have allowed life to deflate them in every possible way.
No healthy egos allowed on this thread. wink

I'm sorry, but I don't get your meaning.

          You're description fits me perfectly.

Is this opposite, opposite day? I must have missed something. Don't feel bad, I do that a lot.

I think every day must be opposite, opposite day.

Which description fit you best? Worthless slug or healthy ego?

                  Worthless slug:)

I think our misunderstanding stems from the definition of "healthy ego" maybe. I was getting at that mine is too big. In that I am self-obsessed.

      Wow, astounding negativity.

The Olympics are about what humans can achieve, they aren't about pointing out your failures.

How dare you sir! If I want to take notice of the fact that my double axle is sadly lacking, then I shall do so!

Yes! I feel like a slug. I can barely walk out the door with grace. All this time I should have been trying to train or something. However they are fun to watch.

When I go down the stairs, I stand at the top and take a few deep breaths, then I plunge down, do a full twist in mid air and try to land at the bottom without hitting the wall. I think I'm in second place so far.

Lol!  I use the mop as a hockey stick  to knock a half eaten sandwich, (that one of my kids dropped on the floor) as my hockey puck and  hurl it into the fireplace. Perfect score Beth. Yep.  :-)

The Olympics are encouraging, entertaining and have some of the best competition. It shows some of the most wonderful grace of Figure Skating. It's all good.-smile

I don't need the Olympics to make me feel like a worthless slug. All I have to do is try to squeeze into my jeans first thing in the morning.

... can't wait till Spring so I can get out there and do some walkin'!!!

Do you have a 100 hubber score? I'm so impressed. I had no idea all this time we'd been chatting that I was amongst greatness. Good for you. smile

Yeah, don't ask me why, though. I haven't written a new Hub since before the New Year due to computer issues at home. I just enjoy it while it lasts. big_smile

I must admit I am a little exhausted after watching the snowboarding. I find my self swooshing up and down the pike walls as if I can will more momentum to the boarder's rides.
