too many to name, martial arts, after the God of war, Mars, refers to all forms of formalised combat. Now, it is generally used to refer to oriental fighting skills, but every continent and people have their own forms. Boxing is a martial art, as is wrestling, and archery and fencing, the subject is vast.
Yes there are many types of martial arts styles...thousands of different styles...but after studying for the past 20 years I have learned that they all have many commonalities. Most people believe that they all originated from Tai Chi.
One way to answer this question would be to say that any type of combative art. Or I could list a whole bunch:
Karate
Tau Kwon Do
Kung Fu (many under that umbrella)
Muay Thai
Boxing
Kick Boxing
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu
Wrestling
Aikido
Judo
Jiujitusu
Silat
Zen Do Kai
Shoot Wrestling
Hapkido
Savate
Systema
Krav Maga
Pancrase
and list goes on.....
