the easiest way to start getting back into shape for a busy mom would to start drinking water whenever you can. I wanted to loose some weight, so I started drinking water and I have lost five pounds just from that! Water is now the only thing I drink, except when I go to a resturant. If also cleanses your system, energizes your brain and helps your skin become healthy and beautiful. Buy up fruit and vegetables and have a salad every night, and a fruit snack during the day. Again, that will help to keep the weight off that youlost from the water. *WARNING* you will go to the bathroom more frequently- so be prepared for that. But it is well worth it. Energy also comes if you go to sleep, if possible, as early as you can. The hours before midnight are when we would get the best rest, and loose weight during sleep. Taking vitamins also work.

Find at least 10 foods that are healthy to eat and eat them every day.   Water is always good for you, but you should eat lots of healthy foods with it.   Things that zap your energy:  Fat, sugar and carbohydrates.   Choose foods that are low in bad fat, high in good fat.  Meat=bad fat, fish=good fat, chicken=low fat, etc.  Avocados=good fat, lard, shortening, cooking oil=bad fat, olive oil=good fat.   Research the fat content and health implications of any fatty food you wish to eat.
Try to eat carbohydrates in moderation and choose them carefully: brown rice instead of white rice, whole wheat high fiber bread (70 Calories or Less) instead of white flour bread, whole grain pasta instead of white noodles, sweet potato instead of regular potato, lots of vegetables and lots of fruit.  Cut refined sugar out, no candy, cake, etc.
If you have healthy foods on hand like broccoli, carrots, green beans, onions, apples, some nuts, and other fruits, you will have something to snack on.
Give yourself a treat, frozen strawberry juice bars are only 80 calories.  Avoid fast food, it his laden with fat and calories, a cheeseburger and fries can easily go over 1,000 calories.
