Who will be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2011?
The ballot results will be announced at 2pm today on MLB Network.
Omar Vizquel gets my vote. He was a team player through and through and a recipient of the Golden Glove more than once.
My guess is just Roberto Alomar and Burt Blylevin. Larry Walker might be a surprise squeeze in. Lee Smith deserves it but he won't get in this time.
Full list with relevant states can be found here:
P.S.-Omar Vizquel is not on the ballot L.L.
@ Woodard: Vizquel isn't yet eligible. In fact, he's still an active player. He's got to wait 5 years after he retires to get on the ballot.
AS a BlueJay fan forever it's about time we see Roberto Alomar, make it into the Hall of Fame. Joe Carter is next.
To me it does not matter. There are a number of players that should be there but are not. These writers have to much to say about a sport they have no talent to play in, I think the system should be Writers, current and retired players, making the votes.

The baseball writers have selected Roberto Alomar and Bert Blyleven for this year's Hall of Fame class. Alomar received 90% of the vote, while Blyleven got nearly 80%.

I found this interesting Google spreadsheet that tracks the published ballots of all the baseball writers who have disclosed their ballots for this year: https://spreadsheets.google.com/lv?key= … y=CPyuwqIJ From this sample, it looks like Roberto Alomar and probably Bert Blyleven will get in...

Does Mark McGwire deserve to be in the Hall of Fame?My opinion is absolutely not. He clearly benefitted from juicing and his performance in front of Congress was disgraceful. I would vote in Bonds and Clemens, but no one else from that era.

I say yes because he was on two of the all time worst franchises in Football and with him at the helm they became contenders and the Rams got a Superbowl. And besides that I just like the guy.

He was caught gambling. He has been permanently banned from baseball including the Hall of Fame. Is this a fair punishment? Are there other players who have committed worse crimes who are not banned from the game or the Hall of Fame? Should they be banned?
