KU (university I went to college at) can claim Lynette Woodward, one of the best female basketball players of all time. She would be one of the leading scorers (or maybe #1) in NCAA women's basketball history, except for the fact she played before the NCAA "officially" kept women's statistics. She was the first woman to play for the Harlem Globetrotters, played for several women's Olympic teams, and even played in the WNBA for a few years, even though the league came too late for her and she was well past her prime.
By the way, KU is also where Wilt went to college.
