Why do you think the top four countries consistently dominate the Olympics?

Medal counts fluctuate, but the top winning countries are the USA/China, Russia, and Germany. Why is that? Do you think different countries should be included in the top?

There is nothing wrong to win medals consistently, because they have put everything they get to win the medals. Starting from rigorous trainings, never stop improving, combining science with sport, and a lot more. In other words they deserve the medals because they wanted it the most... they will give with everything they got to win it...

It's a mixture of large populations, good facilities and and a passion for sport in those countries. Great Britain was fourth in the medal table in Beijing and is third this time, this is down to a massive investment in facilities and an increased interest in sport since London was given the games.
