Is Dusty Baker a Hall of Fame manager?
I say no. Baker, who was fired this week by the Cincinnati Reds, has a mixed record. He finished his Reds career with a 509-463 records, making the playoffs three times but never getting them to the World Series. His overall managerial record is 1,671–1,504 with three teams (Giants, Cubs and Reds). He's won a division with all of them and got the Giants to the Series. But never won the Series (he did as a player with the Dodgers). I believe the main reason for that is his poor handling of starting pitchers. Joe Torre and Cito Gaston should go ahead of Baker.

Does Don Mattingly deserve to be in the Hall of Fame? Now I know he does not have the numbers, but I'm not a stats guy. I go by what I saw and he was a great Yankee. Yes, it matters if you play in New York. The pressure is that much greater. A .300 average in NY is like a .325 average in Kansas...

Does Mark McGwire deserve to be in the Hall of Fame?My opinion is absolutely not. He clearly benefitted from juicing and his performance in front of Congress was disgraceful. I would vote in Bonds and Clemens, but no one else from that era.

He was caught gambling. He has been permanently banned from baseball including the Hall of Fame. Is this a fair punishment? Are there other players who have committed worse crimes who are not banned from the game or the Hall of Fame? Should they be banned?

Should Barry Bonds, Roger Clemens, and Sammy Sosa be voted into the Baseball Hall of Fame? The Baseball Hall of Fame ballot for 2013 was just released. Given these players alleged steroid involvement, should they be voted in the Hall?

In my opinion, Pete Rose is the greatest hitter to ever step on a baseball field and should be in the Hall of Fame. I'm sure there are players in the HOF that have also done some immoral things in their time. Isn't the HOF based on the players performance on the field? Should the steroid era...

Sammy Sosa was a great player. He really was. But now, on June 16, 2009, it was proven that he used steroids in 2003. I would assume that he used them before also. Was his great single season home run record chase with Mark McGwire legitimate or was he on steroids at that time? We may never know,...
