Versace Perfume

Updated on August 21, 2009

Gianni Versace is an Italian designer who is well known in the world of fashion and perfume. The Versace perfume line is quite large having both Versace perfume for men and Versace perfume for women. Gianni Versace perfume has lived on past its name giver. Versace’s sister has continued on the legacy of Versace perfume and Versace perfume is still coming out with new fragrances today. Similar to how Cartier perfume is relatively inexpensive despite the high end nature of their jewelry; even though the Versace brand is very glamorous, a Versace fragrance does not have to cost too much. There are many online vendors where you can purchase discount Versace perfume or other high-end perfumes like discount Creed perfume. This page will seek to introduce you to the newest fragrance from Versace as well as give Versace perfume reviews of a few of the classics.

The New Versace Perfume

The latest Versace fragrance for women is called Versense. Versace Versense was released in the spring of 2009. The overall billing for Versace Versense is that it highlights notes from the Mediterranean and has a fresh and sexy lightness. I would describe the top note as crisp with hints of citrus. The middle note is not quite as fresh, but has a nice floral and musk blend with fruity undertones. If you like a very fresh scent, then this perfume is probably a good choice for you. It is a nice summer fragrance and the release of this Versace perfume was perfectly timed.

Some Classic Versace Perfumes

One of the first scents launched by Gianni Versace, Versace Blonde perfume is a wonderfully luxurious fragrance with a flowery scent. The flower scent is not overwhelming like it is in a scent like the Vera Wang perfume Princess or the Moschino perfume Funny. The most prevalent scents are of jasmine and violets. Manufacturers and reviewers alike say that this Versace perfume is great for romantic occasions. The jasmine flower only blooms at night when it is cool, so perhaps that is why this Versace perfume is best used at night for a romantic rendezvous. Blonde is one of the more expensive Versace perfumes, but not as expensive as the discontinued perfume Versace by Versace. A half ounce of Versace Blonde retails for approximately $150. You can find it at discount perfume stores for around $50. One of the reasons this Versace perfume is so expensive is that it takes an enormous amount of jasmine flowers to get just a little bit of jasmine oil and jasmine oil is used in this perfume.

Another well-known Versace lady perfume is Bright Crystal Versace perfume. Bright Crystal is a sweet floral smelling perfume with fruity hints. The floral tones come from magnolia and lotus flowers and the fruity hints come from pomegranate and yuzu citrus fruit. Perhaps the light pink shade of this Versace perfume comes from the pomegranate. Unlike DKNY perfume for women, the floral scents are more powerful in Bright Crystal than the fruity ones. 1.7 ounces of Versace Bright Crystal sells for anywhere from $45 to $65. Bright Crystal Versace perfume comes in a small rectangular bottle with a large football shaped top. You can see an advertisement for this Versace perfume below.

A third Versace perfume worth mentioning is Versace Signature perfume. Versace Signature unlike the two perfumes described above has a perfume for women and a cologne for men. Signature for Women is described as a floral bouquet with gentle touches of azalea and jasmine enveloped in the warmness of Moroccan cedar wood and Kashmir wood. Signature for Men has the same combination of fragrances, but there is a bit more musk in the men’s version of Versace Signature. You can purchase a large rectangular bottle of Versace Signature perfume for women containing 3.4 ounces for $50 to $100 depending on where you shop. The men’s Versace Signature cologne sells for slightly less ranging from $50 to $75 for a 3.4 ounce bottle. The two fragrances look quite different despite their similarities. The Versace Signature for Men is a light blue color and the Signature by Versace for Women has golden hues.  Another popular men's fragrance from Versace is simply Versace perfume for men which is similar to the Happy perfumes and specifically Happy for men with its citrus top notes.

I have just recently(way late on that one, I know) sampled some of the Versense by Versace and I think it is a bit similar to Bright Crystal.
