    The hair is made up of about 95% protein, which are actually polypeptide proteins or amino acids. Ask your doctor if you can take amino acids. Hair will become a little coarser. It will take awhile but it will also make a difference in your nails.

    The problem with taking amino acids and/or Vitamin A is that they give strength to tumors because tumors are also proteins.

    Most people who ask about "hair thickening" really want hair volumizing. 

    If you have fine hair and use hair thickening products, the product makes each strand thicker but also heavier - so your hair can look even flatter!

    I've been using henna and other Indian herbs on my hair for about  a year.  I use henna  to cover the grey and it makes hair thicker and so does the other Indian herbs.  I wrote a hub on henna. http://hubpages.com/hub/Going-Green-A-henna-adventure
