What is your favorite stone and why?

My personal favorite is Opal.  I love the rainbow effect and how the stones pick up the light.  I also just love the energy of that particular stone.  It happens to be my birthstone also, but even if it wasn't I would love them.

I would say Aquamarine. My wedding ring is actually a huge Aquamarine stone with diamond accents. I always loved the sky blue look of the stone.

I agree smile It's hard to pick just one, but Opals by far have always been my favorites.

I love diamonds. This too is my birthstone. I loved wearing a diamond ring, it made me feel...special. I also loved the way it sent rainbows when the sun hit it just right. A simple stone on a simple band, but I loved wearing it.

glad you enjoyed diamonds.  I never did really, didn't even have diamond for my wedding/engagement rings.  They do say diamonds are a girls best friend though smile thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Turquoise, although it's not a precious stone -- is my very favorite. Perhaps it's the mystery surrounding turquoise that I love -- like -- turquoise should be always gifted and not purchased, etc. I personally prefer the old pawn turquoise pieces -- am not particulary turned on by the newer artisans. I'm particularly a fan of the Begay family of turquoise artists -- they do magnificent work and have for many years.

I like it also, nothing sets off a pretty silver setting like it. I also like the white turquoise stones do you?

Yes indeed I like the white turquoise stones. Must admit I love the true turquoise best from all the colors including blue, green, etc.

I love opals, but my favorite stone is a rock my son and I saw on a long ago walk.  We both looked at it and then looked at each other and said, "Let's remember this rock."

We both talk about this rock years later.  We are not totally agreed if the rock was black or white.  (I'm sure it was white!)  But we both remember this moment.  He was about five years old and is thirteen now.   I love that a minor blip on a walk in England is fixed in my mind and that of my son-- even if our memories are slightly different.  We still say, once in a while,  "Remember the rock??"
