Is CON.LINK some kind of reserved file name in the Windows XP operating system?
I have got 2 computers running the Windows XP operating system and for both computers, whenever I try to create a file with the file name of CON.LINK, it tells me that the file already exists. And when I try to open a file with that name, I get an "Access is denied" error. Anybody have any idea as to what is happening?
CON is a reserved word in DOS, and thus, automatically reserved in Windows and derivatives as well.
Thanks, I didn't know that. I have a program that generates random 3-digit filenames and the program terminates every time the CON combination is generated.
