Will true artificial intelligence be our final salvation or destruction?
I think it will turn out like "The Terminator." Machines deciding that we are in their way.
It all depends on who built or controls the AI.
AI is just like any other tool, he who wields it determines its morality.
Think of it like this:
- A baseball bat is totally benign in the hands of a baseball player, simply part of the game and it will not injure or cause harm to anyone.
- That same baseball bat being used by a thug in a liquor store robbery can be a source of great pain and injury to the shopkeeper.
The same thing can be proven for guns or any other inanimate object that is either created or used by humans.
The objects/creations are not good or evil by themselves, it is the people who develop/use/control those creations that determine our salvation or destruction.
