    Does PR still matter?

After Google's latest updates that have brought even more variables to SEO. It seems that the great Page Rank that everyone seems to want is becoming about as meaning less as an over used PLR article. Yes many sites that dominate the most powerful spots on google are usually brandishing a powerful PR but many of these sites are authority sites and it is unlikely that big G would move them if they had a PR1. I have also noticed that many very powerful PR sites are getting walked all over by much smaller sites. I personally only see the PR as a bragging right for sites now. What do you think?

PR still matters, but not as important as before.

PR lately means much less than it did in the past. But it is still one of the over 200 signals Google uses to determine search result placement. I have a hub specifically on this topic.  http://mywebs.hubpages.com/hub/What-is-Google-Page-Rank

Still matters, but there are other important factors today.

    Much more important are "Authorities".

e.g. Your signature below the article, linked to your google ID will mean a lot if you are having good authority as an article writer (there is a how-to in Google to put your signature as an author inside your site's META HTML tags.)

Also, Author's "Social authority" matters. If you have more followers in G+ - then you are probably famous in a way.
