Can eReaders, Tablets or iPads Get Computer Viruses Like A Computer?
Can eReaders, Tablets or iPads Get Computer Viruses Like A Computer? If so, what can you use to protect your mobile device or similar device from viruses?
Theoretically, yes. But I wouldn't worry: no-one writes viruses for e-readers, and some have anti-virus software anyway. Tablets have anti-virus software built in, and iPads are so locked down it's very difficult for viruses to affect them. That may change soon however - remember when all those Macs got infected recently?
if you can install stuff in them, you can get viruses in them. Even symbian cellphones (symbian is an OS for DCT-4 . . .i think, nokia cellphones.) have viruses. I think there can be viruses for those devices too.
A virus is simply a malicious program that can be executed (or run) on any device that processes binary data. In short, all electronic devices that process binary bits CAN get computer viruses. read more
