Do You buy new technology when it is released or do you wait until it is perfected and catches on?
No I never have purchased new technology when it is released. My theory
is you keep purchasing new technology every time it is released it is
money that is taken out the monthly budget. I think it really is not possible
to keep up with every new version that is released. I purchased an iphone
for 1 cent but it was a 3G and I love the iphone plus it was a steal of a deal.
I like to wait and purchase technology at dirt cheap prices.
Thanks for responding adrienne2. I'm like you. I don't need to get the latest version when a cheaper one exists.
By the way, Congrats on your 100 Hubber score
I don't think I've ever bought a new tech gadget when it was first released. I guess I'm turned off by all of the fist fights I hear about when people are in line for the "new I-Phone" or whatever.
I wonder about the people who have to get the latest and greatest on the first day, It's seems like little is really new. It's just a stepped up version of old stuff that can usually do much of the same stuff. Cant you wait for it ! Thanks rob
I usually wait a bit, because the price will drop. That's always the trend with electronics. Early adopters pay a premium to get the latest, great things, but after a few months (or years) that price becomes more reasonable.
Take cameras, for example. Every time Canon releases a new camera, it sells at or around MSRP. Six months later, it's discounted by Amazon. There's not a whole lot of difference between the Canon t2i and t3i. When I was shopping for a camera, I could splurge for the Canon t3i, buy the cheaper Canon t2i, or wait six months and buy a cheaper Canon t3i. I ended up getting the Canon t2i...
The latest and greatest is cool, but more often than not it's simply a waste of money for a simple status symbol / ego check.
Waiting until the price comes down and opting for earlier cheaper models is a good way to go. It's something I do also. Makes sense. Thanks for answering brianrock
