It takes three remotes just to turn on my television in my house!  How many remotes does it take to turn on your television?  I know, I know, we can always get a universal remote, but it all depends on what kind of system one has as far as all the extra features.

Me too!  LOL  We have all this surround sound and this and that, and so for some reason it takes three remote controls in our house!  LOL

Hi NickSimpson, yes that sounds wonderful.  It's all the extra attached to the television, why we have to have so many.

Well the costar is a passthrough box so you can get all your web apps and cable just goes through it to the tv. I also have a receiver and pc connected, but just use the one remote since it was programmable. I think a Logitech harmony is your answer.

I have two remotes and they're a pain in the a_ _.  One is used to turn off the TV while the other is used to turn off the cable.  If you have one in your hand that does not have the feature you need at any given moment, you must switch and do it at lightening speed so as to not miss something.  This occurs often at times when something you wanted to truly hear is being said.  The cable remote always freezes on the screen, which requires a reboot.  I like to record movies so if I can't watch the whole movie on one day I can resume the next day.  The cable remote fast forwards the taped programs, while the TV remote controls the volume and capture.  Frankly, I have had enough of it all and now contemplating Internet TV and getting rid of cable altogether.  I hate my cable company too.

Yes, for some reason we need three to do all that my husband wants the television to do, so maybe in reality, one of them will turn the television on. I am glad I do not watch television much at all.  Thank you.

Just one :-)  I like to keep it simple :-)))
But we have another remote to access Netflix.... and I have a terrible time understanding that remote.  A good thing that I don't like to watch to much TV :-)

Yes, I do not watch much TV either, but my husband has so many other stuff attached to the TV, that one has to use three remotes just to watch a show, so I just do not! lol

Really only one BUT if you want to switch to watch a DVD that's a bird of an entirely different color.  Then you need the TV remote to switch the input, the sound system remote to switch the sound and the DVD remote to work the DVD.  It was so much easier when you just got up to change the channel wink

Hi Till,  That is exactly what I meant, as we have all of that you have mentioned and then some.  Yes, and I even mentioned that to my husband, I would rather just get up and change the channel LOL I remember .... : )
