What are you allowed to pin and repin on Pinterest without running across copyright issues?
If a pic has the pin it button (like some of the ones here on HubPages), are you allowed to pin it to Pinterest? Is that an invitation to pin the pic or do you have to personally check it for possible copyright violations? If a photo has been pinned to Pinterest, are you allowed to repin that without worrying about possible copyright issues? If you use a Creative Commons or Public Domain pic on your article & add text to it (photo credits included at the end of the article), are you allowed to pin it to Pinterest & have it link back to your article? Or should it link to where you got the pic?
The whole point of Pinterest is that the pin, or the picture that then goes onto your Pinterest profile, actually links back to the original page, this getting traffic for the author. It is only the author that should be concerned about copyright.
Try it- go onto Pinterest and choose a random image. Click on it so that it enlarges, then click on it again. It will then take you to the page of origin, if it has been pinned correctly.
Hope this helps :-)

I see Hubs where beautiful photos are used and are from Pinterest. The photos are usually credited as being from Pins. Are we allowed to use those photos??

I was late coming to Pinterest...yeah, another account to manage, for what purpose, blah-blah. But eventually, about 8 weeks ago, I dove in. Sort of like learning to dive into water in a pool when I was a kid...would I get water up my nose? What were the risks, but mostly, what was the point?The...
