Legal to be building upon a creative commons photo by adding website link?
If a creative commons photo has a license where we can build upon, is it legal to put my site link onto the pic after I upload to my website? I would like to do this to every photo which gives the right to "Adapt — remix, transform, and build upon the material" (CC BY-NC-SA 2.0)
NC stands for non commercial. That means you can't add your link. Do a search for CC BY-NC-SA 2.0 and it makes it clear that you can't do what you want with the picture. Stick with photos you can change that allow commercial use. If you can make money off of your site then it is commercial.
Ideally you would take your own photos and upload them to your site. You could get more traffic that way. Original content is better than content that can be found all over the internet.
