One of the important places to be visited in Delhi is Qutab Minar. This is one of the most visited tourist destinations in Delhi. This tower is 72.5 meters (238ft) tall and has 379 steps to the top. The base diameter is 14.3 meters and the diameter of the top is 2.75 meters. In 1193 the construction of this tower started by the Muslim Ruler Qutab-ud-din Aibak. His successor, Iltutmish, built three stories. In 1386 the top story of the tower was completed by Firuz Shah Tughluq.
An Iron Pillar is installed nearby the tower. It is believed that whoever encircles the pillar with their arms with their back toward the pillar can has their wish granted. Due to safety reasons, visitors are not allowed to climb the tower.
Timing: 8.00 am to 6.00 pm
Entrance Fee: Rs. 750/- for foreigners and Rs. 20/- for Indians
Photography: Photography allowed with a fee.
