   Definitely Limousin in S W France. We took a chance and moved here from England 10 years ago when our son was 5 and it has been the best thing we ever did. Almost no traffic, no crime, clean, peaceful, full of wild life, green, what more could you want?
   
   Well - excellent health service, education, polite people who cherish their surroundings. A lovely climate, warm but not too hot in summer with a short, cold but sunny winter - what more could you want?
   
   Well, cheap housing, nice neighbours, enough land to grow your own vegetables or even keep livestock and horses, and all for the price of a semi in the north of England. For the price of a London terrace house you can buy a chateau or castle within its own parkland! What more could you want?
   
   Well, great fishing, riding, walks, golf, cycling and boating. More?
   
   What about great food and wine at a price you can afford ... ok - I won't go on. You have to come and see for yourself!
   
   (I didn't get on to culture, history etc)

   I'm afraid my answer isn't about any exotic place....I spent two years in Vermont and absolutely fell in love with that state.  The slower pace of life, the rural settings, the quaint little villages.....I love the natural beauty of that state and I think it would be a fabulous place for a writer to live.

   Nobelsville, Indiana.  It is this incredibly picturesque spot, but it has a surprisingly large, city-like art scene.  A really beautiful place.

   My favorite place?   Hmmm. Now that is a really difficult question to answer!!  I have lived around the world and there are many favorite places.  But, I would have to say absolute fave is Colorado. Great enviroment!  Friendly people!  World class musuems! Theatre, plays (incl. Broadway), concerts,famous artists (such as Dale Chihuly, for example) and numerous art galleries. Large art communities. Colorado is one of the healthiest states with many,many, many outdoor activities.  So, let's see...
       Hiking, biking, jogging, dog-walking, strolling, rockclimbing, mountainclimbing (when you live in the land of the '14ers' (mtns. in Rocky Mountain Range that are 14,000+ ft.).  Try sking, snow-boarding, snowshoeing, snowball fights!
       Sports lovers dreams- especially considering the Olympic Training Center is stationed here! Then there is everything to do with lakes and rivers. Boating, swimming, jet-skiing, fishing, (fly & ice), etc...
       There is also hunting, wildlife watching AND wildlife watching YOU!
   horseback riding, ghost towns, hot springs, pow-wows, sportsclubs, natural history galore! The several State and National Parks throughout Colorado. ALL A PHOTOGRAPHERS PARADISE!!   
       DO NOT FORGET all the military installations stationed in Colorado Springs.  Air Force Academy, NORAD (Cheyenne MT.), Peterson AFB, Schriever AFB, FORT CARSON ARMY POST (one of the largest in the US), and all the Air and Army National Guard, Reserves, Depots, stationed throughout Colorado.  THIS IS DEFINITELY A PATRIOTIC STATE!
       Wow!  DENVER!!! GOTTA LOVE DENVER!  the Reniassance Faire and the Colorado State Fair every summer!
       Cowboys,cowgirls & rodeos- as this is ranch country.  Native Americans & thier history and current society involvement. Colorado Springs is literally in the shadow of Pike's Peak -America's Mountain.  The Song America the Beautiful was written in this very shadow by  Katharine Lee Bates.
      Well, I got a little carried away and will stop for now as this is making me abit homesick and there is so much more! Check it out on the WWW and visit if you can! 
   PS: Due to military, we are stationed in Montana. Which is a BEAUTIFUL state as well!!!

   Austin - where I currently live. I've lived overseas (which I enjoyed) and in several other places, including California. So far, nothing beats Austin. It's the sort of place you fall in love with and keep loving it more, the longer you're here.

   I would have to say Nairobi, Kenya! Perhaps an odd option for many but it's a city i fell in love with. To be surrounded by such friendly, warm people day in day out is something i shall never forget. Not to mention the weather, especially between December - March.... pure perfection, would recommend it to anyone!

   My favorite place I have lived so far is Barnard Vermont.  Not many people will know where that is, but it is one of the most beautiful places in New England.  There is a beautiful lake right in the middle of town with a great state park, and campgrounds.  An amazing country store right across the street, and miles of hiking trails.  During the winter there are are miles of snowmobile trails, ice skating, and beautiful scenery.  Well, the beautiful scenery is there all year round.  It is very relaxing and heavenly.  Everyone should visit Barnard Vermont at least once in their life.
