   Where in Texas would you most like to visit?
   
   If you could visit any town, city, or specific thing in Texas - what would it be?  As a tourist, or person living far from here, what would you most like to see in Texas?

   I would like to go back to Galveston and do some more deep sea fishing, or at least get some fresh seafood.  The Texas coast is a very different world from Dallas.

   I like roadtrips so, I would probably like to move around and see of course Dallas (heard so much about it ...) but see other smaller towns and/or cities, to get an idea of regular day to day life there ... customs and such.
   Cities for the most part are a little similar wherever one goes, except for landmarks of course.
   
   The coast would be nice to see. I went for my first time to Florida last fall and I wouldn;t mind seeing the Gulf of Oil from a different view-point.
   
   Maybe one day ...

      I think Texas has ....probably more to do.  Austin, Dallas, San Antonio, Houston...and it is a lot less humid than Florida, except for around Houston.

   I've been to Houston (for 4 days) and to Dallas and Galveston and through some of the podunk little towns but I'd like to go to Austin and definetly  Kaufman, for obvious reasons :-/

   I've been a few places in Texas, but never Austin or San Antonio.  Austin is where I'd most like to go.

      Austin is a super liberal party town with a badass music scene!!!!!!!!  But the River Walk In San Antonio is one of the most beautiful places in all of North America!

   Oh brother...I could have a field day with this one, but I'll be nice....for a change.  I've been to Tyler and Dallas (have lots of family in Dallas)......but if I went to Texas ever again (highly unlikely).......I would wear a blindfold and just follow the sounds of the strumming GEE-tar and the fragrance of cheap beer...and see where I wound up!

      I love Tyler....I've lived in Tyler and Dallas several diff times.  I'd like to move back to Tyler some day.

   Somewhere I could hunt razorbacks and bowfish for alligator gar. Then do some hiking. Then feed some bugs to red ant piles.
   
   Joking about the ants, but would really like to do the former. Don't know the choice spots for those, but you could be a guide.

      Willie, you can hunt those wild boar just about anywhere in the state!!!!

   Wow, this one caught my eye.  To my grandmother's farm in Chilicothe, TX in the Texas Panhandle!  They say there's only a barbed wire fence between them and the North Pole, that's how cold it gets in the winter.  So I would probably visit in the Spring, when it's nice

    As a Texan by force, I can tell you that this is a very diverse and unusual state.  From the Piney Woods to the High Desert, from the sultry Padre Island to the modern metropoli of Houston and Dallas, from the flat, arid deserts around El Paso to the mountainous region near the New Mexico border and the central Hill Country.   I was moved here with my family and currently live in Mouskin, near Amarillo in the Panhandle, more western Oklahoma than Texas, being closer to four other state Capitols than our own in Austin. 
    
    But mom and I have been all over the state: searching for crashed airplanes and missing people, taking training in the Capitol and other places, working disasters for the Federal disaster response agency, I've seen it all.  Outside Post, Texas at night you can see the stars and the Milky Way the same way it looked when only cowboys roamed the plains.  In New Braunfels you can lose yourself in German culture during Oktoberfest.  In Canyon, Texas, the Palo Duro canyon stretches for miles, and you can see the layers of millenia laid one upon the other in brilliant colors.
    
    The little towns are as interesting as the large ones.  Umbarger, a former prisoner of war camp during World War II, was beautified by a prisoner artist.  Every year they have a german sausage festival. 
    
    Fredricksburg is steeped in German culture.  San Antonio is a gem in the middle of the state, a great blending of Hispanic and English cultures.  It's River Walk is world famous.  And a tiny spot north of Dallas where the road actually ends: Mission Fort. 
    
    You could spend your life in Texas just learning about everything it has to offer: NASA, oil wells, refineries, wild life, ocean front, lakes, rivers, woods, deserts, farmland, big cities.  My favorite spot in Texas?  Up on top of the bookshelf in the living room.  It's really nice up there.

       We had a little German POW camp right here in tiny Kaufman, Texas too!  I'm planning to take photos of the place sometime soon.

    Corpus Christi .  When in service - I requested this City for orders and never received it.  I have never been to Texas. The Bay looks beautiful - and the weather is great too.

    I'd love to go to Ovilla, Texas and visit my sister and family, and then on to Austin to see my nephew's goat ranch.  I'd like to visit the Alamo, venture down to the Gulf and eat some fantastic seafood, and get some rocking new boots to shame everyone back in Hawaii.  I love Texas and her people and I'd love to explore every bit of it!

    When I was a kid, I used to vacation a lot in Big Bend national park, before it became heavily "tailored." I guess I'd like to visit the old park one more time, there aren't any time machines available.
    
    I recently (well, 10 years ago) re-visited Marfa, Odessa and other parts I knew as a kid. Changed quite a bit.
    
    But I think more than anything, I just like to visit family. It doesn't matter where -- whether it's San Angelo, Midland or wherever. People make the place.

    I love Galveston Texas, I had vacationed there as a child/teenager and would love to go back. I really like the beach because it didn't have too many people there, like Florida did have elbow to elbow people. It was cool too that we had to take a car boat over to get there!

    If I have the chance I will go to these places Dallas, El Paso, Houston, Galveston, San Antonio, and South Padre Island. I like to explore Texas nature, and wildlife, if only I got the chance..
