The Driskill Hotel in downtown Austin, Texas is a beautiful historic hotel very popular with the locals. It is reported to be one of the most haunted hotels in Texas. Built in 1886 by the cattle baron Jesse Driskill, who was said to have spared no expense, is known to haunt the hotel with his presence and the smell of cigar smoke. The hotel is close and convenient to all that downtown Austin has to offer. It was entered in the National Register of Historic Places, 1969. It's restaurant, The Driskill Grill, has been given numerous awards for its wine selection and food. So, if luxury, location and a little adventure is what you are up for, then the Driskill Hotel in Austin, Texas would be my recommendation for your next visit.
