I have never visited China, so my impression could be conpletely off base. However from what I see in the media, I'd say they are very materialistic, advanced in technology, yet they do not value females as much as males. This is get from the fact that you can adopt a female baby from china so much more readily than males. But I don't know this is purely from someone who has never been to China. Or had any contact with them at all.

I visited China once particularly in Beijing and I was impress to the place it was packed with both modern and ancient attractions like Summer Place, Forbidden City, Hutong and Courtyard, and the Tiananmen Square.

Before visiting, I had the impression it would be dirty. But that was inaccurate. In fact the bigger cities like Beijing and Shanghai are quite clean. The suburbs may still be dirty though. I was also very impressed by the infrastructure. more info at: http://hubpages.com/hub/My-Impressions-of-China-Beijing and http://hubpages.com/hub/My-impressions-of-China
