"Off the beaten path" places to see in Europe?
I am going to Europe with my family this year and I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions! Would appreciate if someone can share a really "uncommon/ off the beaten path" place to visit besides the usual tourist spots
The entire country of Luxembourg was a big surprise. Scenic and historic and great shopping and movies. It seemed like the mini capital of Europe. When you have a rented car it is also a great jumping spot to lots of places.
I was surprised that such a tiny nation can have lovely rural areas, country inns and totally friendly people.
By train it is also convenience. So, while not part of lots of mainstream tours and guidebooks, my wife and I would always consider Luxembourg a starting point for future trips.
A friend suggested we go there, and he was totally correct.
When i was living in Rome my native land i visited a few spots that were breath taking so i compiled a list , i have not visited them all but a few , http://hubpages.com/hub/beaches-here-are-the-top-10

What is the best place/city/country to visit in Europe and why?Not that I'm going to visit Europe soon, but I definitely want to visit there at some point. Curious to know where are good places to go in Europe, why, and what it's like there in those places in terms of people and environment.
