Do you have any tips about packing a suitcase for air travel?
One of the big problems of modern air travel is avoiding excess baggage charges. This is even worse on the return journey!
I have once written a hub with tips on packing really light for traveling. It applies to air travel too. Here is the link http://carmenh.hubpages.com/hub/Tips-On … cking-Tips
I used space bags when I moved from NJ to CA it worked pretty good
You can use space bags where you can vacuum the air out of the bag which makes everything inside the bag flatten leaving enough space for few more things on your travel list.
Always check with your airlines about baggage allowance as they do change. If you have to sit on your suitcase to close it then you're probably in excess. Allow a couple of pounds when you do weigh them as not all scales are accurate. Most airlines offer an option to purchase baggage allowance, usually an extra suitcase or by the kilo or pounds, cheaper especially if arranged in advance.
