We stayed at Oasis Cancun, wonderful price, wonderful pools and great food BUT lots of springbrakers drunk (food and drink included in price). We moved to other Oasis, Oasis Palm Beach, but pool not as good and food, you have to do line... Villas Arqueologicas in Chichen, Coba, Uxmal are great and central, but if you stay in Cancun, don't go on Spring Break.
Oh I liked the sister hotel, the Oasis Viva. The beach is great, it doesn't have rough waves and the water comes up to your waist for a while before it drops off so you can do a lot with the floats. Since it was all-inclusive (including drinks!) you never had to worry about paying for anything and the food was pretty good. I did like to tip the staff but $1 per person was fine. It has several dining option and you're welcome to try the other Oasis hotesl for dining. The Oasis Viva is the more family friendly hotel, I think.
