Why should we travel for leisure? Why can't we just stay home and rest?
I think travel allows us to appreciated our own culture and luxuries. It also helps us to learn about our world.
Agreed. Additionally, I think getting away from home helps us to unwind and maybe put things in perspective.
Traveling to a tropical location when it was 20° at home really cheered me up, what a luxury! That was a special treat though, I usually to travel closer to home. Sometimes staying home and resting is just the thing I need.
I supposed it depends on what we need at the time. I love to travel but sometimes it was more stressful than staying at home. However I would never pass on a tropical vacation. What a treat that would be. Thank you for answering my question.
Traveling away from home often breaks the every day momentum and gives people a chance to refresh and get a new perspective on things.
If you stay home, you are tempted to do chores, etc...and that is not restful!
Most people travel to get away from their daily lives. Maybe they enjoy a warmer climate then where they are or they've always wanted see a certain place. Traveling for me is not just about leisure but more about the adventure/excitement that comes with a change in scenery and culture. Staying home 52 weeks a year would bore me to death. Even if you do nothing at all but lay in the sun on a cruise ship that still beats being at home on the sofa to me. :-)
