If you could write your epitaph what would it say? And how about the gravestone..

Epitaphs and gravestones - your last chance to have a say..get in know and write it, don't leave it to others.you know yourself better than they do! Will it be pithy or heart wrenching..or have you said it all, do you care, will you let others write the last paragraphs of your masterpiece -your life?

I don't know, but I like Malcolm Lowry's (Night of the Iguana)

    EPITAPH

    Malcolm Lowry

    Late of the Bowery

    His prose was flowery

    And often glowery

    He lived,nightly, and drank, daily,

    And died playing the ukulele.

Just a small gravestone reading "Peace at Last".

Just a small headstone that said "I told you I was sick".

I would elect to write nothing on my gravestone except my name and my love; however, when I said I wish to write nothing more that does not mean I do not want to leave a message.
My last will or request indeed will provide for the installation of a motion detector and when motion is detected it will have a recording of my voice saying; "Move along, move along there is nothing here of interest to you. John has passed on hopefully to a higher place. Please feel free to say a prayer for John to help him stay cool...

God, Family and Honor. R.I.P. on my gravestone. As far as the epitaph I would have to contemplate that one.

I will probably let someone else write it.  I am likely to write something like:  "See you soon."  or "Gone fishing.  I will be back in the morning." or "Shouldn't you be at work?"

Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.
Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil

I think I would write this:
" I am the Light of the World"
Hr who believes in me has life eternal.

    Or
    I fought the good fight
