In my younger days, I would jump at the chance to travel alone. I spent many months in Mexico just riding buses and hoping off whenever the spirit moved me.
I've played chess with chess champions, went swimming in a volcano, rode motorcycles down lonely highways, lived on the beach in a tent, climbed ancient ruins by moonlight, all sorts of things.
    I highly recommend travelling solo!

I've been to the pyramids in the Yucatan Peninsula.  That would be cool to climb them in the moonlight.

Yes, one of the best decisions I ever made, many years ago. It was transforming. I went to the Bahamas solo and loved the experience. The best part (besides the shopping :-) was reading "Gifts from the Sea" by Anne Murrow Lindbergh, literally by the sea.

I'm getting ready to begin a solo road trip from Philadelphia to southern Oregon on May 29.  It'll be nice to see the whole length of the country in one trip.
