Duluth Minnesota. beautiful scenery. Skyline drive overlooks the harbor and lake Superior. Great to watch ships sail in and out of the harbor
Lots of entertainment facilities
near the waterfront. Grandma's marathon and blues fest every year. Plenty of exercise, as Duluth is built on a hill.
Cons: Employment opportunities are poor. Many homes on the hillside are in dire need of repair, as are the streets.
Annual smelt fishing in the spring is all but gone since
stripe bass and salmon were introduced into the great lakes.
The city has lost about 25,000 in population over the last 40 years, due to the petering out of the iron ore mines in northern Minnesota.
All in all, a wonderful place for kids to grow up.
..haven`t lived in my hometown in a long time...so don`t really have any pros and cons on my mind....
