When should I replace a cat condo?
I have two cats, and they love their cat condo. It's great since they don't tear up any of my other furniture (for the most part). However, it's getting very worn, somewhat gross, and smells a bit. This is all despite me cleaning it.
I've had it for a year and a half. I tend to replace them once a year, but unsure if I am doing it too soon. Can't find a thing online, and I have dropped a good $100 each time I buy a new one. It's well worth the price just watching them play on it and such. So should I replace it?
Go to a carpet store or Lowes or some other store of that nature that sells carpet remnants. I just covered over my cat condo for less than $20.00.
Since your question is WHEN, I would replace it after the smell from it starts to bother you. Otherwise worn or not as long as your cats are using it I wouldn't worry about replacing it.
I agree that when you notice a smell it is time to change it out. Maybe there is a way to neutralize the smell and then put some new carpet on there.
