Un-featured Hub
Can't see why a new Hub isn't featured. I've published over 100 Hubs, and never had this problem.
Can you link to the hub and maybe we could look at it and let you know what we think? If it was the one about sunburns, just the word Fattie may have been a problem. You might be better off naming the title by the theory's name instead too. I think it would get better search engine results.
Otherwise, I couldn't see anything wrong. If it is a different hub, give us the link and I'll look at it.
Thanx! It seems to have resolved itself automagically!
I have published 162 Hubs for a little over 170,000 page views and yet 22 of my Hubs are un-featured. The 22 Hubs un-featured have gained 6,314 page views (average of 287) the lowest coming in at 118 and the highest at 565.
One of these un-featured Hubs gained over a 100 page views last week but remained un-featured. Most if not all of my Hubs are what are considered 'evergreen' and although I edit them from time to time am simply not interested in jumping through the hoops required to keep them featured.
Since Google put the Hammer down on Hub Pages late last year my page views have gone from 1,500 a day to 200, so after putting in the time an effort to create good readership the roof fell in over night.
I have taken my talent elsewhere . . . oh well lessoned learned!
Somethgblue, there must be good reasons why this happens. When you earn, HubPages earn. Maybe you should post your question in the forum, or write to HubPages directly. Better the devil you know than the angel you don't know!!
Monkeyminds, why don't you post your question in the forum, together with the title of your hub, so that the moderators can verify what you are talking about and offer you an appropriate answer. Based on what I have seen in the forum, the moderators will give you a quick response.
I saw someone raising a problem similar to yours, and the moderators pointed to a link that redirected to a spam site. Apparently, the 'decision' not to feature is made by an inbuilt software and the moderators were not aware of his or her problem.
Thanx! It somehow worked itself out. The magic eyes of a moderator, I suppose!
The moderators' job is to ensure that HubPages return to its pre-Panda glory. 2 years down the road, HubPages' visibility in Google Search is still 62% below its pre-Panda days. I don't envy their task and responsibility. It's a tough job!

How many times have there been forums posts regarding this "experiment" of featuring and un-featuring" hubs due to traffic and trying to guess what Google wants. Experts with probably more expertise than anyone at HP have said over and over that no-follow attributes can and will hurt...

I recently had a hub un-featured for engagement, as the half-circle indicates. I think this is an unfair practice and should be eliminated entirely. Here's why I feel this way:Our hub traffic is often affected by the time of year, holidays, seasons, and current events to name a few. If left alone,...

Does it help to un-publish hubs that are not featured?I have been taking the time to un-publish some hubs that have the status of "not featured". Does this help my statistics or is my time better spent just revamping these and upgrading the content?BTW, I love the symbols and the fact...

I noticed that several of my hubs were showing the half-darkened circle which means un-featured for traffic, so, natuarally, I went and made some improvements, only to find that then the circle became complely blank, meaning un-featured for quality. It seems to me that if they were low...

How many views, roughly, are needed to keep a hub from being unfeatured?I've noticed a lot of people complaining about hubs being unfeatured for lack of engagement.I've noticed traffic declining on some of my hubs, and I was wondering if anyone knows at what point I'd have to worry about being...

Had never done a “sales” hub before so decided to try. Have tweaked and tweaked this hub but it still keeps on being not featured due to quality. Getting a little T’d . . . http://geminifox.hubpages.com/hub/Green … t-Friendly- Have every single one of the “goal” (attributes) boxes ticked off...
