Thanks for the info on Bubblews, I plan to check it out today. If what you say in your last statement is true, than that is very sad. It is also the reason that HubPages will remain the premiere writing site that it is.....
I just can't figure out what's going on at HP. I have the highest average and highest score I ever had here in 2 years for the last 2 months or so. I'm writing a series which I don't think I'm allowed to say here. But the hubs are on the first page of Google about 2 days after I write them. I made about $60.00 last month, but always see the money go down this time of year. But I never had such high scores or hubs that went up so fast.
Instead of beginning at around a 50 score, one shot up in the 80's a few hours after I hit publish. So that should give me good results moneywise, yes? I know the author score is meaningless, but why are the hubs moving up in individual scores so fast when it seems like only several people are reading them? I realize many do not comment. I can't decide whether to keep writing or not. I have to finish the series, but it's going fast. I could make them into an e-book, but had a bad experience with that.
Traffic and scores have nothing to do with conversion
Hi WryLilt,
I understand that traffic from friends on HP and scores have no meaning. I accept it's a losing battle to be at this site. The thing I can't reconcile in my mind is why do they bother with scores? Since I had some written pieces laying around, I've been posting them, and they rise up to the top fast. Plus I was finally getting paid each month for hubs I wrote two years ago, and felt I deserved a return on all my work. The amount of work I have on other sites is minimal, and you can't really make any money unless you have at least 100 or 200-400 pieces if you want $200+ a month. It's equivalent to making pennies a day to make so little for hundreds of pieces that take more hours than a F/T job to write. The only issue that writing in other places helps with is name recognition.
I suppose some die hard members are just happy to have something to read. I keep telling myself I will stop writing any new content here, but my blog is no better, and I've put so much time into that too. I'm about to give up and just write for myself.
Scores can indicate quality and traffic. But if you have a hub with a score of 85 with 1,500 words, 5 pictures and a video titled "Weight loss" or "Ode to Habitation" the scores mean nothing because the keywords won't be worth anything in Google.
I have 74 hubs on this account right now and get $200+ a month easy... 20% of my hubs bring 80% of my income.
wowtgp: They should care about those who can't spell the word cat or write a complete sentence. There is a lot of gibberish there. More members who write on other sites are joining so we are seeing better posts.
Our scores don't affect earnings or how Google ranks our hubs. You might get hubs with high scores featured on hub pages, Hub of the day but that is about it.
Wowtgp I gave in and decided to try out bubble, I'm gonna connect with you and you should show me the ropes. Haha
I didn't think I would, but me three. I'm keeping a spreadsheet of daily money made, or at least the total made as it accrues each day on each site to see the difference.
Already though, I've far surpassed my earnings here, but at Bubblews just in one day although I feel like hubpages will be the better option for me in the long run. That remains to be seen. I hope to continue writing articles for each site to compare the differences.
The difficulty is that any site you write for it takes community involvement to begin with until you start seeing the organic traffic, which is just a phrase to me currently. For those of you that just work one job that may not be an issue, but I work not only two jobs, but I do all the bookkeeping for the business I now run for my husband.

Do you make more money on self publishing on kindle than hubpages? how much do you make?

I've seen a lot of talk about Hubpages versus Bubblews lately. One thing I have NOT seen is how much money on your Google Adsense account. If you monetized your site properly with Hubpages, then you'll be making money through Google as well. To check that account, go to google.com/adsense.Once...

I am talking about best and worst scenarios. I have been through many posts on the forum and other places. From what I understand, you can hope to make (in the best case) about $1 per month per hub. So is that true for many of you? For instance, if I go berserk and post 1000 hubs (don't even ask me...

Boy google must really hate HP, because beside it being the best designed writing site with the highest PR and alexa ranking, I still find it easier to make money on the spammy clones like Bukisa and Infobarrel. I have an equivalent number of articles up at both Bukisa and IB and my views,...

HI. I sorta like HP. I find some of what the rest of the people here have to say interesting. But let's be honest. I'm hear for the backlinks. I am writing hubs as part of my SEO. Problem is I can't get my score over 66 much less up to the 75 mark and I'm getting tired of it. I hop hubs every day,...
