you can, just click the thing that looks like a chain link while editing your profile to create an in text link.
I might add that the chain link icon works once text has been highlighted. So type in the text you want linked, then copy the URL for the page you want linked to into the box that pops up when you click on the chain link icon.

How do I get a link into my profile? The chain that is usually used for such, is not live.
