What do you have right now first? List all your online real estate then I am sure someone will be able to help you out. There should be plenty of hubs for these info.

I'm just walking through this traffic & networking road too.

Here's some tips I have come up with so far.

    1. I make blog posts daily, or as much as I can. As for HUBS, you have to put more thought into your topic normally.(hubs are about QUALITY not quantity)

    2. I hate taking the time to signing up for sites(networking/forum sites), but you probably should if you are just relying on your hubpage by itself(it would be extremely hard to just let it sit their and expect people to find it all of a sudden). Digg.com and Blogger.com are two I'm using right now.(digg needs WAY LESS effort to get around than blogger).
    DIGG.com (worth the sign-up)

    3. You should post a link on any forum or networking site(myspace, facbook, etc.) you have. spread the word.

    4. Sign-up for Google Adsense and Adwords(two different things)

    5. Tell friends to tell people?

OR you could try the Get Paid To offers & surveys route.
    bingplop.com

sign-up at cashcrate(bingplop.com will direct you there)
it's probably the most trusted GPT site there is online.

    Hope I helped - bingbongplop3

OK please don't lynch me here but I do have a link I started using about a week ago and actually have seen results.  It is free, yes, free, really 100% free.  You go download the program and it tracks where you surf.  As you look at pages you get credit (yes even when you are making money online you are earning credits).  These credits convert to ads you can put on other sites.

The site of course does have and upgrade option which you can do if you want, but personally I did NOT do the upgrade nor did I do the email option and I still am seeing results.  Every little bit helps and if it is free I am all for it!

    The link is:  http://www.instantbuzz.com/r/?blogging2

Again, it will offer an upgrade option that you can do but that costs money, you can decline the upgrades and still get traffic FREE.

I believe this would be considered a traffic exchange program...

Just checkin'... but isn't that against the Adsense TOS?

Yes, Instant Buzz is a traffic exchange.....a very bad idea!

OK, I am lost now...  How is it bad if you are sending traffic to your own site?  Not asking anyone to click adsense?  And not sending them to an ad on your page?

Just curious, I have seen an increase in traffic which to my way of thinking was a good thing, this has not affected my Google acct in any way, actually no one has clicked on a single ad.  I have not seen an increase in Adsense yet from it, but thought the more people I could direct to my sites the better off I was???...

And like I said not doing the email blasts or the other things they have.

If it is bad I defiantely want to stop!  I have it susspended until I understand more on how it is bad (or good)!  Thanks!

Clicks from traffic exchanges are considered fraudulent, and are against terms of service.

I don't fully understand it myself, just know that's how it is....learned the hard way.

...by getting banned from a site when it was found out, if I remember rightly.  I have had a couple of friends who used traffic exchanges and got banned.  Like you, they were completely innocent and had no idea they were doing the wrong thing.

The traffic is worthless anyway because they are not actually looking at your page just clicking on it for a few seconds and moving on. Whats the point if there not going to read your page or click any ads?

The answer to all of your questions are right here on hubpages.

You have all of these hubbers in one group right there on your screen who range from those that thoroughly enjoy writing and are very good at it, those who wish to impart their experiences, internet marketers who have been there and write what does work and the down right honest hubber we all love to follow n read.

Just use the search bar on hubpages and learn from  the best, or at the very least, those that have made genuine attempts and have found some success.
