I can not load images into older hubs, or a new unpublished hub. Someone suggested that I may have too many pixels so I reduced pixels to under 520. I have tried to add my own photos as well as pictures off the internet. I also tried to load pictures that I have used in older hubs just to check.

I keep getting a red error message. I am unable to publish my new hub because I can't load any pictures. Help! Please.

I am in Firefox. I have tried everything. Last week I was getting bad link messages to links to myself that I clicked and that worked fine. Now this. It's getting harder and harder and I am getting less traffic. Color me frustrated.

    Have you tried clearing cookies?

We clean this computer up on a weekly basis. Someone suggested the I lower the pixels and use 520 pixels max which made my picture in photoshop about the size of a pin head.

I upload photos here all the time but never had any trouble.

Dolores, 520 pixels (height or width) equates to roughly five and one-quarter INCHES. Therefore, I don't understand how a photo that width or height could "look like a pinhead" in Photoshop. Something else is going on.  Sorry.

and that was only one picture so whatever i did to that is one thing. i have tried to load several pix stored on computer, my own as well as imported from photo sharing sites.

Indeed.  520 pixels is the normal display size for a full width picture.

I have had a lot of trouble loading images as well.
Do you get booted out of your hub and told that you are not logged in so you can't upload pictures? That's what happens to me. Muy frustrating, that.

Have you tried rebooting your computer? That usually works for me. But sometimes I just have to keep logging back in and adding one photo per log-in....

One other thing that definitely helps is downloading photos to my computer and then uploading them. For some reason, HP seems to prefer that to using straight across links. It's not a problem because I can then provide the link in the source/url boxes.

    Hope this helps.
Oh -- another thing that sometimes helps me is to publish the hub and then quickly click edit. I think sometimes when a hub is being worked on for awhile it can get "stuck."

    Good luck! MM

thanks MM but all my pix are already here on my compter. i've rebooted the computer too. this has been going on for 3 days and i can't publish my new hub without pictures!

just 'for fun' i also tried to add new pix to old hub. no can do.

I just started a new hub and noticed that it takes an awfully long time for HP to recognize that I've chosen a photo to upload from my computer.  However, it DID load eventually.

Dolores, have you downloaded the latest updates for Windows?  At one time, HP wasn't letting me edit old hubs or start new ones, but the problem went away after all the "important" Windows updates were installed and the computer restarted.  Just a thought...

Dolores, it appears it might be your browser. If you are using FireFox, then you might want to update your browser to version 4.

I am using FireFox 4 and have no problem loading pictures. Maybe you could clear out your cookies and other unwanted files from your computer, reboot and update your browser.

If that doesn't help, then email Staff- team@Hubpages.com

I hope you get it straightened out. smile
