For example, we could live without music, but we enjoy it too much. Any other answers?

Apparently, many people are married to their cellphones, but really...
Same with computers...but then you wouldn't be reading this right now, would you?

Much of what passes for entertainment on television these days...smile

This is so true, but sadly true. Very thought provoking answer. I never would have thought of this. Thanks.

I'm not sure about your first answer Brenda, that one is too much close to the need to procreate, and humans actually have to do that in order to keep the race going. If we didn't have sex, our civilization would end.

I know, I thought of that after I posted it!

But I also was thinking on an individual basis.  In other words, no person actually has to have sex to survive, although in the big picture of course the human race would need it.........unless we could maintain humanity through artificial insemination, etc....which is a possibility of course......a horrid possibility.

Pretty much anything besides basic food, shelter and some clothes. Lots of things taken for granted today aren't really necessary.
