My review on Lucky Number Sleven

Lucky Number Sleven is one of those movies that go by unnoticed but those who have seen it love it, and recommend it to others. I highly recommend this movie has a buy and here’s why.

The plot of Lucky Number Sleven is that a young guy named Sleven finds himself in the middle of a long on going battle between two mortal enemies. He comes to his friend’s house after losing his job and these gang thugs come and take him away to their bosses thinking that he is his friend who owes them money. He then is given a task from each of the bosses that have to do with somehow sabotaging the other group. If he doesn’t do these things and come up with a bunch of money, he will be dead. All this happens while a shadowy assassin (Bruce Willis) pulls strings from the background. The ending is awesome and makes you say “wtf mang?” It has one of those crazy endings like The Usual Suspects (which is also another badass movie) and The Sixth Sense except with the whole he was really dead thing, just that type of shocker.

The movie has a very smart ass humor to it and the movie has a feeling like Pulp Fiction or The Reservoir Dogs. I wouldn’t know how to categorize this movie in types of genre so I'm going to make up my own, ill call it a funny, shoot them in the face, wtf movie. There is plenty of action and shooting for the manly man, and then some cute loving stuff when Sleven meets his friends neighbor (Lucy Liu), and then there is the funny dialogue that keeps you laughing.

The acting in the movie is pretty good. There are some really good known actors in this movie like Bruce Willis, Lucy Liu, Josh Hartnett, Morgan Freeman, Ben Kingsley, and Stanley Tucci. Each plays there role very well and has their share of secrets that you find out during the course of the movie. You’re not sure who the bad guy is and who are the good guys.

The DVD features are really good. Mostly just the deleted scenes because the rest is commentary and stuff and that’s good if you are interested in people talking but the deleted scenes to me were stuff they should have left. I could see how they left them out but they added so much to them that I think it would have been better to leave it. Also, there is an alternative ending that is good to watch too. That said, the bonus features and defiantly good to watch if you usually don’t.

In the end Lucky Number Sleven is defiantly a good movie that you should buy. If you aren’t into buying movies or only liked to get shocked once then rent it. But I would buy it and plan on doing so when I don’t need to buy other things. This movie combines the best parts of The Usual Suspects and Pulp Fiction and delivers an awesome movie with a good cast, good plot, and an all around good time. So check it out, or else.

Make sure to check out all those other movies I hand picked for you, buy them all.
