   What's your favorite movie?
   
   I'm a movie buff, and I love finding out about new movies I should've seen a long time ago.  I admit my knowledge is limited to the last 10 years for the most part, and as such I haven't seen classics like "The Godfather" or "Scarface", but I wouldn't mind regardless.  Just tell me what your favorite movie is so I can have some new ideas will ya?

   Blood In Blood Out, True Romance, Quiz Show, Fresh, State Property, Kill Bill Volume 2, and Inglorious Basterds, but particularly True Romance. It's based off true romance pulp comics and has two scenes with Gary Oldman where he plays a pimp that are the best constructed scenes in cinema history, Brad Pitt is a lazy pothead roommate who ends up giving directions to these mob guys who have guns in his face and he's like "alright so first you go like...wait dude...whoa....no...okay...you're gonna start by taking a right..." And they're just shaking their heads.

      I keep hearing that I need to see True Romance.  I even had it in my possession for a few months, but never had time to watch it unfortunately.  I love Inglorious Basterds though!  If only for Michael Fassbender.

   another film from Russia which is foreign language and almost a twin of Amelie the film you so love at your hub is called Mermaid - highly recommended.

   I have two or three right off the bat.  Three, actually.  The first is Love Story.  I was a young girl when this movie aired. I've seen the move 7 times and read the book 11 times!  Mind you, I was in 6th grade (catholic school) when love (other than family) was something I'd not yet experienced.
   
   My second favorite is actually tied with my third:  Bridges of Madison County (again, I'd read the book first) and Forrest Gump.  Bridges of Madison County portrays love never had in place of "logic".  There is no logic in love, but much heartache in marrying where love was not the driving factor.  I actually praised this woman for having an affair and being able to experience true love.  My heart ached when she chose to "do the right thing".
   
   Forrest Gump is the epitome of overcoming all obstacles.  It's the epitome of true friendship, truth, trust, drive and never giving up.  I watch it every time it comes on TV.  I've probably seen it 4 times and will continue to do so.
   
   I love movies that make yme laugh, touch my soul, those with which I can relate, and make me think.  I love movies that make me cry.  I don't like gore, atrocity or sci-fi or inhumanity.  I do like suspense, paranormal and anything that brings a question to my mind.....

      I absolutely love Forest Gump.  I've been meaning to watch "Love Story", and haven't actually heard of Bridges of Madison County, but it sounds like a good movie!  Thank you for the response.

   Most of my favorites are commonly known and easily available.  But my all-time top favorite is a movie about a special effects guy, based on his life, with lots of low-budget (but hard work) effects, humor, music, and fun.  It's called "The Wizard of Speed and Time."
   Makes me feel better every time I watch it.  When I need a smile, it gives me one.

   I have no one favorite. There are favorites within genres and sub-genres and favorites depending upon my mood.
   
   Here's a short list:
   
   Casablanca
   Star Wars
   Das Boot
   Being There
   Gladiator
   Forbidden Planet
   Ghost
   Star Trek: First Contact
   
   Each of these has a powerful message and does it well.

      Haha, would you believe that "Ghost" and Gladiator are the only movies out of these I've seen? I've been meaning to watch Casablanca and Star Wars for a long time. I mean, I can barely step into my apartment without hearing about it from my roommate.

   It's difficult to pick just one film. Here are some of my favorites:
   
   - The Godfather
   - The Godfather II
   - Goodfellas
   - Casino
   - Blow
   - Requiem for a Dream
   - Memento
   - Pi
   - Scent of a Woman
   - Taxi Driver
   - Oldboy (an excellent and disturbing South Korean film)
   
   I have several more but I don't want this list to get crazy.

      Okay I'm going to watch "The Godfather" movies and I'm going to like them!  I love Requiem, Blow, Memento, and Oldboy.  Did you hear that they're making an american version of Oldboy?  Don't know how I feel about that.

      I did not hear about an American remake of Oldboy and like you, I don't know how I feel about that. There aren't many directors, in my opinion, that would be able to pull it off. The only one I can think of is Darren Aronofsky.

   My love for movies has become quite an expensive collection, however, I wish technology would chill, I hate converting to the next bigger and better viewing experience. I am sticking to and staying with BlueRay. Now, "True Romance (1993), Christian Slater, Patricia Arquette is an awesome movie. Also, "Aloha Summer" (1988), Christopher Makepeace, Yuji Okumoto. As for the trilogy of the Godfather, you'll find out the part II is the best, and the part III, Francis Ford Coppolla's daughter sh*t on the entire movie. Enjoy!
