When did we - the fans - become the cause of a celebrity's bad habits?
Every day the news is full of “stars” who want us to believe the pressure is so great that somehow we – the adoring public – have created an environment that has caused them to go against the values we all cherish. Why?
We (as a whole) give the demand for such stories of bad habits. Because we (as a whole) pay the media, we (as a whole) force the media to come up with stories that they (the celebrities) think gives them a bad reputation and want them to fail.
The media catches Celebrity 'bad habits' on camera for us 'fans' - Some of us may have far worse habits then these Celebrities, however we are fortunate that they're not caught on Camera! But we enjoy reading Celebrity Gossip, it's in all of the papers and Magazines. They're talking points for us, they create fashion trends, they become part of our every day. But the Celebrity doesn't have to continue in their chosen field - If they're not enjoying it, they don't have to stay in the lime-light and can eventually be forgotten about, and new Celebrities take their place. But most of them will continue to seek out the spot-light - regardless that they're not coping well with it (and have formed drug/alcolhol abuse problems etc), they'll stage photo shoots for the media, pose half naked in magazines, they'll make all kinds of public announcements about their love life and life-style. Maybe go into Rehab, and come out and do it all again! Celebrities will always want publicity because that is the way they earn their money and they want to be important, and loved by masses. So they can't turn around and then say it's the 'fans' which cause their 'bad habits' they do it to them self by choice, rather than have a relaxing lifestyle in the countryside!
I agree with both of you but SD - they do "turn around" and say it's the "fans that cause their bad habits". In my opinion, you are correct, it's their CHOICE.

Does a celebrity's personal life affect your opinion of them? Some of the best examples are Michael Jackson and Johnny Depp, who were beloved for music and acting respectively. However, questions arose about possible abuse to others from both--does this affect your perspective of them?

Bad habit are developed over, sometimes, long periods of time. Most of us have done the wrong things our whole life and by the time you get to 30 or 40 it is ingrained in us too deep. It takes a change of mind to change your life and only YOU can do it. And as the definiton of insanity states, only...
