The sound is barely hearable wide open. It sounds worse than a cheap midi player. Downloads are unbelievably slow. When I had the old 28K dial-up system it was faster than this computer...and I have already added Windows 7!!!!! Anti-virus programs always say Incompatible when I install them. The "Jumping arrow issue" is out of this world on this Dell. You never know where the cursor arrow is at any given time. Browsers (IE-8 which came with Win 7 and Mozilla have crashed several times today already and has to force a shut-down to get out of it.)
I HATE Dell!!!!! When this is all said and done...My review I will write about Dell with me one of the worst they have ever received!!! The BBB (Better Business Bureau) will definitely hear from me on this. Dell is such a major rip-off.
If I didn't still owe on this computer I would take a sledge hammer to it! Dell is such a joke. I bought into the false advertisement about them and have paid big time for that stupid mistake. Never again!!!
Since I am not a wealthy person with money to throw around...I am just "stuck" with this piece of shi*** until I cam save for another system!!!
Dude, that sucks.
I hate to see you going through so much trouble with your Dell POS.
Thanks. I am just so pis**d off right now. The computer work somewhat, but...browsers are even worse now than before. And can't use anti-virus programs. I feel safe with HP, but...won't even check email or homepage because of anti-virus scare.
I buy Dells for the last like 10 years, for all my friends and myself, probably more than a dozen total - never had any of your problems. In fact never had any problem.
I wish I had had your luck then. I got the lemon, but the replacement (always refurbished) is another lemon!
BTW...good to see you back on the forums Misha. I knew you were away for a while.
If every antivirus program you put into your computer cannot work, there is a chance that a major virus has sneaked into your computer. Get someone to have a look at it. -_-
And make some lemonade in the meantime.
Good to see you too, Michael Yes, I was quite busy recently. In fact still is, but it is getting better lately
Michael, are you allowed to open the casing of this computer, or does your warranty forbid it?
If there is no seals to say you've done anything or not, assuming this is a desktop and not a laptop, undo the screws to the casing...remove the cover, touch the outside of the metal casing with your hand to remove any static electricity, and then check that all the components are firmly home. Just push the connections in case anything is loose, pay particular attention to the sound card. Grip all the cards and push them towards the motherboard. That is how they are connected - they just slot into position, but if they are even a teensy bit loose you get all sorts of weird issues.
You will know what the sound card is because externally you will see where your speaker cables plug into and it will be the same thing.
You definitely have a conflict in the system - that is why the mouse arrow is jumping. That is more likely to be a software problem. Have you looked under start -> control panel -> system -> device manager to see if there are any yellow exclamation marks beside any of the components? If there are, report back.
I know I'm a dummy with SEO, but I have an HNC in computing, gained in 1999. Computers have come a long way since then, but the basics remain the same for a lot of things.

When I enter a hubber's name in the searchbox, I get a message that says something like "no matching results." From my profile page, when I try to see my own hubs by clicking "more," it says "no hubs found." WTH??

My first computer was a "built to specs" SX 486x with 160 MB hard drive and 4 MB RAM. It had a pair of cute little speakers and it ran Windows 3.1. When Windows 95 came out that same year; I was elated! Now times have changed and so have computers. Those of us who have witnessed this...

For the last several days if I wish to share a good hub from a HP author with my followers, it won't do it for some reason. Is anyone else having this problem?
