This is another one of those fun time wasters. I'll go first and see if you can beat these:

My third grade teacher was the third cousin of Buzz Aldrin, one of the first three astronauts how landed on the moon. I used to be so proud of that fact.

I went to the same high school as Michelle Pfeiffer....she had already graduated a few years before I got there. I wish I had been a few years older.

When I was in junior high, one of my friends told me that he thought he saw Henry Winkler walk out of the same movie theater we came out of. Could never prove this, but the it slowly became a fact in our minds.

My brother saw Ervin "Magic" Johnson playing with his son at Six Flags/Magic Mountain when we were in high school. My brother said that Johnson was carrying around the biggest wad of dough (and I don't mean flour) that he had ever seen.

My father met Ricardo Montalban (Fantasy Island, Wrath of Khan) and Larry Wilcox (CHiPs) through his old company that used to make large movie film lights. Man, how I wish I could have met Mr. Khan himself.

My father claims that a movie studio once offered him (or at least discussed with him) the possibility of co-starring in the old 1970s show, Grizzly Adams. I've rolled my eyes at that, but there may be some truth to it.

My Granddad is on Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ron_Tarr

    smile

He played minor roles on the British soap opera Eastenders as well as other shows until he died in 97.

Not sure if that counts as celebrity... but its gotta beat your third cousin of Buzz lol

Christine C. Quinn, speaker of the New York City Council (councilmember from Manhattan) is a cousin. I learned this from my dad, but can't verify how far "removed" she is because my dad is dead.
On my mother's side we are related to Ebenezer Sargent. Somehow this qualified my mom as a Daughter of the American Revolution (DAR).

I have always "known" that I am Debbie Harry's sister but cannot prove this:-)!

I was once told I was somehow related to Susan B. Anthony. My Grandmother grew up a few houses from Emily Dickinson, and somehow or other my Grandfather's cousins (or maybe an Aunt) knew Louisa May Alcott.

My brother's acquaintances tell him that his life is more interesting than a soap opera, so that puts him on celebrity status in his home town.  I can't go there without hearing something about him -- sometimes good, sometimes bad.  smile
Other than that, I am a descendant of Louis VIX (I think that is the one), through a concubine.

As for associations, some of my ancestors came to America on the same ship as William Penn, others came over on the Mayflower, and I live in an area where many rich and famous people have homes.

Well, not exactly celebrities.  My grandmother always said we were related to Will Rogers (her maiden name was Rogers, so maybe...big_smile)  My mother always said we were related to President McKinley (don't know what the relationship was supposed to be other than being German?)

As a young child (like 5-8 yrs old or so) at the Tommy Bartlett Show in Wisconsin Dells, apparently I sat next to Charlie Pride.  (1970's country music - 'Kiss An Angel Good Morning')  My parents didn't say anything until after we left, but I remember thinking it over and I had to agree that the man I sat next to looked like Charlie Pride.

Just keep thinking that and it'll be become true...something you can tell your little kids. Kinda like when I tell my kids that I was in the same movie theater as the Fonz (Henry Winkler).

Gosh, all you people with delusions of royal blood. Just keep telling yourself you're from royalty and it'll come true. wink

I'll have to create my own wiki on how I am related to Abraham Lincoln and John F. Kennedy.  smile

There is nothing royal about him hmm

Did you read the whole page? He was a wealthy landowner (normal folk didn't own land) who lead lead a revolt against the king.

In other words, he got hung for an uprising. Seeing as I clearly share his surname, and my family come from the very same city of circa 180,000 inhabitants, I am not really sure what it is that you doubt about my claim?

My grandad (still alive) was an RAF boxing champion. Apparently that was actually a celebrated thing back then in this country, in the days before big entrance music and multi-million dollar purses. He then went on to become a football referee, all semi-pro then, but he refereed in some games involving some clubs which are still household names.

One of my one-time good friends is a professional tennis player, he played Leyton Hewitt at Wimbledon - although he has never quite made it into the top 100. Think thats all ive got for you...

Hmmm...where to start?  LOL!  I am related to the Detroit Tigers pitcher, Denny McLain.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Denny_McLain.
I am also a descendant of the Webster family (you know, the dictionary guy! LOL).
I met Walter Payton when I was a kid.
My uncle went to high school with Cindy Crawford.
A few friends of mine have acted in movies, tv shows and a music video.
    I guess that's about it.
Oh, and if I trace my ancestory back to Ireland, I am descended from Irish royalty!

I'm not related to any 'celebrity'.

I did have the pleasure of working with Robert Englund aka Freddy Kreuger.  I was a contestant on his new reality show "Real Nightmares" that was supposed to have been on CBS in Early 2005.

The whole show was taped.....Robert came to my hometown & was a guest in my Mom's house & at my house while we shot footage.  Later I went back to LA to shoot the final 'challenge'.

Robert Englund was a very interesting guy who is very smart. I watched him change persona in seconds. It was a great experience. Unfortunately, the show was shelved by the network & will never be seen.   That's the extent of my celebrity status.
