If all your bills were paid for the month and all you had to last you the entire month was ONLY ten dollars, what would you do with it?

Seriously, I was asked this question and have yet to come up with a good answer...

    What would you do?

that really depends. is the amount of necessities like food, water and such well stocked too?  if not, then i would probably spend about half of it on ramen noodles (the ones that come in a pack for about  20 cents each) and buy a bunch of them.  AND a gallon of water, and just save the rest for emergency.

oh okay.  do i have to take the bus still?  do i have a bus pass if i do?  or do i own a car in this scenario?  if so, im assuming that i have a full tank of gas and there's nothing wrong with the car too right?  im only asking, so i can understand your question a bit more.

okay, and assuming there's nothing wrong with the car and there's no type of special mechanical routine thing that needs to be done like oil changes or whatever.  assuming that's fine.  i would have to say nothing.  i would just pocket the money and wait to see if an emergency pops up or not.  if by the end of the month nothing happens where i might need that 10.00, then i would just deposit it into a bank to save.

I SKIPPED TOWN! lol.  yep, that's old king larry for you. im jerk, but im an honest jerk.  you should've seen those town folk and how royally p*** off they were.  especially when i sent a photo copy of my a** on a post card, to rub their noses in it. hehehehe

I'd buy a used copy of Walden by Henry David Thoreau. I'd re-read the first section, titled "Economy". Thoreau knew that in the right hands, $10 can go a long way.

So the real question is, if you have no needs and necessities for the month (bills are paid, car is gassed, pantry is stocked)

What luxuries do you enjoy with your $10 for the month ?

I would make a stop at the liquor store , invite others over for one wild night - spend all the money so I didnt have any distractions for the month - and get to work to make sure this didnt happen again next month.

Oh.....   so that's the real question?  You mean I didn't have to be thinking about whether I'd buy a dollar box of saltines, a few dollar loaves of store-brand bread, that type of thing?   hmm

Oh - then I'd break up my ten dollars into four (or so weeks), and each week go out and sit somewhere for a cup of coffee (with or without a friend, and maybe include something like a couple of muchkins if there was change after dividing it.  A little out-alone time and/or a little "mini" socializing out somewhere would be important to me (especially if all I had was $10 to spend for the month.)

And it is bad luck if you don't leave any money in your wallet -- that's our belief. I didn't spend the money, I just went to my parents house when I am hungry!

10 dollars extra in a month for ANYTHING I want? oh man. I can't even remember a month that has all the bills paid....hmmm....so many things I could do.... new nail polish, new socks, new undies, go out to lunch, a nice card for hubby, go tanning, a box of chocolates all for me....

for real, if I had 10 extra dollars a month, I would save them somewhere and by the end of the year have at least 120 dollars. Pretend I didn't invest it somewhere that gained interest, after 20 years I would have 2,400 dollars. I know that sounds silly, but thats alot of extra money to me. If you can pay all bills (at the very least keep them current) PLUS food, gas, etc and have money left over....your doing good
    wait..real money or credit?
