Should I just write for Hubpages now?

   I have articles scattered over about 5 sites; xomba, infobarrel, triond, bukisa and of course hubpages.  I thought it was best to diversify and I do get some clicks from each of those sites, but honestly, hubpages has more traffic and monthly visitors than all those other sites combined.   
   
   Wouldn't it be best to concentrate all efforts there for the maximum return or should I keep scattering my work around?

      I would say keep your options open. A lot of people here, myself included, write for several sites. Just make sure your content is different at each place.

      I focus on Hubpages for articles sites and it is working out pretty good so far.

   Almost all my income comes from HP and it scares the hell out of me that I have failed to diversify, but I needed to get my income up to a particular level to pay the bills.
   
   I have tried Xomba, Squidoo, Bukisa and Triond - none of them ever ranked as well as HP, or offered the same potential in terms of what I wanted to do with my hubs.
   
   My back up is that I'm taking FireShot images of my best hubs so if the worst happens I can replicate what I have, or at least learn from what worked.
   
   Hopefully you'll get some more posts though because I know there are plenty of hubbers who would disagree with this and have strong diversification.

      Are you afraid of HP losing your data/hubs or HP changing the contract and denying you access?
      
      The first is very unlikely as I'm sure HubPages.com is hosted on "cloud services" with many copies floating around constantly on several servers across the world.
      
      The second: In terms of T&C changes, I agree there is a risk, especially with the banning of porn & gambling earlier (which I support for branding and google serps, but it remains an unexpected change to the contract).
      
      In terms of diversification: I'd rather focus on the best venue for writing (hubpages) and start doing something entirely different (e.g. istockphoto, buying a forum, ...) with the profits down the road.

      I don't write for a lot of places as one of my personal rules is that I have to retain ownership of my writing, but I don't write for just one.

      LOL at the picture! Yeah I agree to some extent, but I think I am going to make a website, but not until I am making a certain amount with hubpages..

   Hi Uninvited Writer - do you use the sites already mentioned? And still get good results? I just find it so hard to motivate myslef to write a new article for same keywords on a different site, because I already want to move on to the next big idea.
   
   Maybe I should try re-using the keywords in my most successful hubs and see how I get on.

      I write for most of them and have made some money. I make most of my AdSense revenue from HubPages and Triond. I also write for a company that pays me $10 a article (Internet Brands).

      I kind of feel that now HP has broken the top 50 sites list that its the place to focus.  I mean sites that popular aren't going away any time soon.

   I agree Hubpages is a good site. HOWEVER, IMO it should always be the goal of everyone who wants to really make money online to make their own, hosted websites.
   
   If your serious about making your living online you have to try to make most of your income with your own sites.
   
   Places like this, as well as any others, can disappear overnight. I make 99% of my income from my own sites.
   
   I also can sell them and make a lot off them. Plus do whatever the hell I want to do with them.

      Very sound advice - Hubpages is a great place to learn what topics make money and how to rank them in the search engines - but you should then apply that knowledge to your own sites.
      
      At the end of the day you are only renting here - ownership has huge benefits :-)

   I think if you want to make a living from online writng then HubPages + COnstant COntent + Personal blog/site is the way to move forward. But if you have some support system, then concentrating on just one sites is fine
